However if you want to be that way, then since cordless phones are also covered under FCC part 68, A FCC 2nd or 1st class license doesn't mean diddly squat. Only the factory or it's authorized agent may repair a phone. If you want to repair phones you need to send a repaired unit in for FCC Part 68 testing and submit the data to the FCC and get a FCC number to stick on the bottom of the phone. Effective untill June 1985 a waiver has been issued to cordless phone manufacturers allowing them a certain amount of freedom to skirt around some of FCC part 15. This is why we are able to pump so much power into the AC line (not antenna) and since an antenna isn't used it is not strictly considered to be a radio transmitter. It can generate interference an a label on the phone says so (as per FCC part 15 subpart J). How would you like to have to get a radiotelephone operators license to work on your computer?
