Some of the deeper-level monsters are fairly nasty, bone devils in particular. "Sting has no effect" is a very comforting message; I suspect that the ring of sustain ability was significantly more useful than the ring of fire protection I had, even though green dragons are no wimps. Titanotheres (sp?) can do a lot of damage, but they tended to leave me alone. Some documentation would have been nice; it's kind of boring fighting a lower-case letter when you don't have a feel for what it is. Green dragons are understandable, and imps and bone devils rapidly tell you something about themselves, but "lichterlon" and "xonoclon" are names that don't tell me anything. Is there some reason that Red dragons always carry things, but green dragons and pseudo-dragons don't? The Amulet didn't show up until level 31, even though I searched most of the levels from 23 on completely. Having found it, and escaped, I guess it's time to retire to hacking. Sayonara, >>---->
