When a ulodyte bites you, you temporarily lose strength; it comes
back about 10 rounds later.  If you quaff a "restore strength"
potion while bitten, your strength will return to its maximum value,
but will continue to increase as you heal from the u-bite.

I had a strength of 16, was bitten twice => 14, quaffed the restore
=>16, and then soon after I was up to 18.  If you manage to get
several restore strength potions while you are still in the u's
levels (1-?), it might be worth letting a u bite you 4-5 times,
killing it, then quaffing your potion.
