SYMPL, a Control Data language for CDC Cybers, gives an error:

          CRUD AT END OF STATEMENT IGNORED.

And CDC COBOL will sometimes say:

          PERIOD AT END OF PARAGRAPH NOT SEEN.

Not seen? Did the compiler mean to say that it just didn't find one, but
there might be one?
