I am writing an "introduction to programming" textbook which teaches a
Pascal-like language to non-programmers.  I solicit recommendations on
intro-programming books that are considered to be outstanding, so that
I can learn from their organizations.  For example, it seems to be the
consensus that you can't learn programming from K&R's "The C
Programming Language".
