Lines: 8 I believe that in our enlightened age with concern for human dignity, people are ADMITTED to hospitals for psyciatric care, not COMMITTED. I have a friend who voluntarily, in cooperation with her psyciatrist, admitted herself to a hospital for psyciatric care. People who reported that she was committed did her a great personal disservice. Her voluntary action took a lot of guts on her part, and she deserves to be commended, not demeaned, for her action.
