There are two versions ; the LAX34-XL with a 1K buffer, and the LAX34-XM with a 2K buffer. They will allow baud rates up to 9600, actually increase the print speed to 45 cps, have a non-volatile set-up memory (like the VT100, so you don't have to do a set-up after each power-up), and even prints an APL character set. I personally do not own one of these boards, but I have heard good things from people who do have them. The info above is from a DEC manual on the LA34 series.
