   I`m not sure about dual drives for the C64; or how to interface

other drives to the C64.  BUT, I have seen (finally) the price of

the 1541 drive down to $199 through mail order.  Commodore dropped

the list price of it`s disk drive from $399 to $299 several months

ago - but it has apparently taken a while for the price drop to

reach the mail order houses.  When I find the ad for $199 disk

drives - I`ll post to the net.
