The current TAC software has only a 64-character input buffer which is not enough for 128-byte block file transfers using the Christensen protocol MODEM program. The increase in available input buffer size should improve things considerably when the host system load is heavy or when you want to upload at 1200 baud. --Keith ----- Forwarded message # 1: Received: From Bbnccx.ARPA by BRL via smtp; 27 Sep 83 12:47 EDT Date: 27 Sep 1983 10:54:58 EDT (Tuesday) From: Pieter Ditmars Subject: TAC buffering To: Keith Petersen Cc: pditmars@BBN-UNIX Keith, In response to requests by a number of users (yourself included), the TAC will soon support variable size input buffers. This will be a site configurable option and will allow some ports to steal unused space from other ports. This feature should be available in the next TAC release (TAC 110 mid-october) Regards, Pete ----- End of forwarded messages
