Lines: 17 My lab is contemplating buying a Zenith Z-100 (which is PC compatible, that's why I am submitting this here). We will require FORTRAN to do FFT's (Fast Fourier Transforms). One requirement of an FFT is that it uses complex numbers, lots of them. We have learned that the Microsoft FORTRAN compiler (an F77 subset implementation), does not support complex numbers, while the Supersoft FORTRAN does. What I would like to know is the experience of users with both. How fast is one compared to the other, both in compilation and execution? How good is the documentation? Does anyone know if Microsoft plans to add a complex variable type? Any such info will be appreciated.
