You are of course correct.  My apologies to all...... the Japanese word
wan does not mean pale (that's the English meaning), but rather
bowl (or is that the Chinese...I can't remember.)  i don't have my dictionarys
handy, and it's Monday morning.  Oh well,  the point is i erred (as usual)
and i'm sorry if i misled anyone.
