Message-ID: <790@mit-eddie.UUCP> Date: Tue, 4-Oct-83 23:26:04 EDT Article-I.D.: mit-eddi.790 Posted: Tue Oct 4 23:26:04 1983 Date-Received: Thu, 6-Oct-83 00:03:18 EDT Organization: MIT, Cambridge, MA Lines: 16 The mention of "Things to Come" has brought to mind a "bad" Sci-Fi (I normally would say SF, but I don't think that this one deserves the class associated with the difference) MUSICAL, but unfortunately the name currently escapes me. The plot was about a sleeper who went from the thiries or forties to the 21st century. The music was all very hokey, the singing was bad, and you could always tell when a song was coming (obvious intros). It was shown a couple of years ago at the MIT Science Fiction Marathon, and after a while when a song would start the audience would scream "don't sing!". The students showing the movie eventually got into the spirit, and shut off the speaker or played rock music whenever a song started. It was loads of fun, especially at three in the morning! -- Barry Margolin ARPA: barmar@MIT-Multics UUCP: ..!genrad!mit-eddie!barmar
