There are three numbered History of Surf volumes, cleaverly enough labeled one through three, and then there is (unofficially?) volume four: The Best of the Challengers! Don't miss this one. Also, the Best of the Chocolate Watchband was issued simultaneously with the Best of the Standells LP. Any rumors as to the quality of the Watchband's music are absolutely true. The Best of the Watchband is a more than welcome reissue. Lastly, September's issue of Goldmine magazine has an interview with an original member of the Watchband (who's name slips my mind temporarily...). The interview was done by Greg Provost of The Chesterfield Kings -- Rochester, New York's answer to 1966-67. Make your guitar sound like a sitar... ... uw-june!eli
