    I must cast a vote in favor of Rob Wasserman of the David Grisman Quartet.
In addition to his fine work with the DGQ, rumor has it that he will soon
(or perhaps already has) release a SOLO acoustic bass ALBUM. Having heard
one of his solo compositions live, I know that the album will be fantastic.

    Second place has to go to John Cowan for his R&B electric bass work with
the Newgrass Revival.
