Wouldn't Latin be easily read by machine? Since the syntax is
contained in the inflections, I would think that there would be very
little ambiguity.

I have seen the example, "The sailors gave the girls the flowers". In
Latin, each noun has an unambiguous case, so that word order doesn't
matter.
