This is a poem I wrote a few years ago when I felt I was a victim of
racial dscrimination.


Frustration-Determination

I cannot change
the color of pigments under my skin

Nor can I modify
the way I speak

My mannerisms surprise you
but they surprise me too

I try
fumble and fail
but I do try

So
let your blows come

I will
and I can
take it.
