'honesty' seems to me to be a function strongly associated with impulsiveness and/or spontaneity ... perhaps related to some form of self confidence (false or otherwise?) and indicating an accurate (?) representation of >current feelings< however, i use the word 'truth' to convey a more reliable representation of feelings that have already been experienced/considered/evaluated and that would probably not be greatly effected by the flux of human (worldly) interaction. maybe this distinction is too fine a line for most cases ... but it certainly helps me put the issue of 'diplomacy' (which implies a negative connotation to many people) into some manageable perspective.
