I saw the original article, various replies, and summary of replies by the author, all in the same day! Strange routing, sometimes. Anyway Some of us (me, anyway), don't pay too much attention to birthdays, or holidays in general. I usually don't hear from my relatives (parents, etc.) on my birthday, except for some of them who send cards in the mail. Nor do I contact my family on theirs. I am the sort who hates thanksgiving and christmas because they seem like wasted days. It's the way I's raised. Admittedly, I've tried to observe birthdays of those non-relatives who seem to expect it; but if you're talking about the guy with the TV(s), then maybe you ought to consider HIS outlook on life, and not just the societal demands on him to honor these artificial occasions. Mark Mallett decvax!sii!mem I would have sent mail but I was scared off by the return path...
