The term "Winning ugly" is attributed to Texas Ranger's manager Doug Rader's comments on the way Chicago was winning it's games. According to the Sporting News, Rader was not talking about the way they looked physically ("...I'm no oil painting myself...") but the way they were winning games. The Chisox fans had prepared a slogan of their own: "Miracle on XXth St." (I forgot the street!!) and decided to combine slogans. I believe now they are saying "Winning Ugly on XXth St!". Chi-town netters please correct me if wrong. In any event... CONGRATULATIONS CHICAGO NETTERS!!! HOPE TO SEE YOU IN OCTOBER!!!! dennis
