It was announced yesterday (9/28) that the New York Jets are
going to move to Giants Stadium in the Meadowlands (East
Rutherford, NJ). This has made quite a few New Yorkers mad,
and the New Jersey public is once again (as was done with the
Giants) calling for a name change; e.g., Jersey Jets.

Regardless of whether such a change is in the making or not,
I'd like to know how many NFL teams don't play in the city
that bears their name. Offhand, I can think of the Rams in
Anahiem (sp?), and I believe the 49ers are in South San
Francisco. What many of my fellow Jerseyites don't seem to
realize is that the New York in the Giants and Jets names
refers to the city, not the state. The Meadowlands is
definitely close enough to NY to be considered a suburb.

Any answers to the 'where do they play' question may be
mailed to me, whereas general commentary on the Jets
departure should probably go to the net.
