I have probably have heard more hours of discussion on this topic than any other in my life, with the possible exceptions of a) "When will the Packers ever fire Bart Starr?" and b) "Why does the program crash?" The problem with geographical realignments is that they make too much sense. When the Tampa Bay Bucaroos joined the NFL central, there was dancing in the streets from Minneapolis to Detroit. Ya see, the Midwest in December gets COLD, really, really COLD. we're talking snow, frost, blizzards, here, really, really, really *cold*! Putting a warm-weather team in with the Frigid Four allowed them to play at least one of their last games Away At Tampa Bay, to the eternal gratitude of the players, the fans, and especially the cheerleaders! Ken "how 'bout those Packers?" Fishkin fishkin@BERKELEY (where it's nice and comfy warm) ucbvax!fishkin
