The WCHA exiles did *not* "form" the CCHA; the CCHA had been a
perfectly reasonable (although somewhat mediocre ) (6?) team league
for years, with Bowling Green, RPI, Northern Michigan, Toledo,
Lake Superior State, and Ohio State (and maybe others).
    In 1982, due to financial pressures , 4 of the 10 WCHA teams
(Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Michigan Tech) *switched*
to the CCHA. I've heard rumors from my Wisconsin sources that the
Northern Michigan schools
(Michigan Tech, Lake Superior State, maybe Northern Michigan) are considering
moving to the WCHA. Anybody know anything about this?
