Therefore they include such features as vertical interval reference (allows the broadcaster to send a reference color signal so your set knows exactly what a red, blue and green signal should look like), US made picture tube (japanese law dictates the chemical composition of picture tube phosphors, so they tend to be dimmer than the unregulated US manufacturers).
