Bookstores are full of them. Most cost more than they're worth and sing hosannas about "great" labels that most people can't afford. My preference is for the kind of book that is a general guide only (types, regions, vintages, shippers, reputations) and then to experiment. A well-stocked liquor store should have one employee who knows something about the merchandise. There is a series of pocket-size wine books published in England by Beasley (sp?) and printed here by Simon & Schuster. One or two of those should get you going
