I had just settled on "wo-per-offspring".  This is singular or plural by
context, and may be abbreviated in conversation, "wipperoff".  
The abbreviation has a delightfully avian flavor.  

We can expec to see shortly such organizations as the "Wipperoff Christian
Temperance Union", or the "Society of Wipperoff Engineers".  We must be 
careful, here, not to imply the wrong idea.  Society at large must first be
educated in the meaning of our terminology, so that it does not assume we
are discussing sadomasochistic technology, rather than the enlightenment to
which we hope others will aspire.
