Perhaps child rearing is a common justification for wanting to job share, but there are many other reasons why an individual might want to job share. So let's not consider job sharing as a fringe benefit which only benefits those who choose to raise a family. Personally, I would be interested in job sharing so that I would have the frequent 3- and 4-day week-ends that I could use for backpacking, skiing, projects at home, ...
