There was a study done (no refs..sorry) of how much "Quality time" fathers spent with their kids. Quality time was defined as time verbally communicating. First the parents were asked how long they thought. They estimated what would seem to be low numbers like 1 hour. Then they put microphones on the kids and checked for several days.
