I have been told that generally single women prefer the title Ms
and married women prefer the title Mrs.

Is this true?

Myself, I prefer no title, but that's not the question.  Before I was
married, I always requested Ms to be used.  Now that I am married, I don't
care if people use Miss (because it's easier to say) or Ms, but I strongly
dislike Mrs.  If it's in written form, please refer to me as
