While I don't like your characterization of USENET, I will answer that,
yes virginia, Europe is on the net. There are two gateways that I am
aware of:

	decvax -> mcvax (Mathematical Centre, Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
	vax135 -> ukc   (University of Kent, England)

And it is quite extensive after that.
