I am starting to look around for a cd disc player and would appreciate
any comments from owners of these units. Thus far, despite the pitch from
salesmen, I haven't been able to *hear* any differences between various
systems (Sony 101, Sony 701, Technics, Luxman, and Phase Linear) played
through the same amp and sound transducers (I've been using a pair of
Stax Professional electrostatic headphones and their class A amplifier).

Also, does anyone know anything about the second generation units? Sony
has announced the model 200 which will list for $700 (and presumably
discount for ~ $500 a few months from now) and others will undoubtedly
follow.

I'll post a summary to the net.
