The Soviet Chess Federation and the International Chess Federations arrived at some agreement that allows an exit out of the impasse. I believe the Russians will agree in writing that FIDE was within its rights to forfeit the soviet players. In exchange FIDE will override the forfeits. Additionally the Soviets wrote a friendly and concilliatory letter to the U.S. Chess Federation. The big question : Where will the Korchnoi - Kasparov match be played?
