I vaguely remember a news article on a "porno-phone" that said the 900 number
paid for itself at 10,000 calls per month and any calls above that were worth
something like .25 - 2 cents to the supplier.

So you can see, you have to have a pretty popular service to make any money
off a 900 number.

I tried to find out if TPC had ever supported a modem-based 900 number (e.g.,
dumping the A.P. wire  or some such) and never got a response.
