When was the last time you used "visit-file"? It most certainly uses file name completion. File name completion is one of the handiest things I have ever used. As my dad would say: "It's the greatest thing since popcorn"! I'm sure that there are several other wired functions that use file name completion in #264 (such as "read-file", "insert-file" and "unlink-file") and it's easy to change most any MLisp function that doesn't use it when it asks for a file name.
