How do you > reverse that sentence? Every year there are MANY cases where criminals convicted of murder (or rape) get out on parole and kill (or rape) yet another person. Often such a person was never even convicted because of the not guilty by reason of insanity plea. The "insane" defendant usually is released even sooner than if sentenced and paroled - fortunately, new laws are reducing the frequency of the latter situation. What is the total value of the first and second and ... victims lives ?? Maybe the psychiatrist or judge SHOULD pay the penalty for these additional unnecessary crimes! One of my favorite phrases - WHAT IF -. Yours was: "WHAT IF the person on death row is really innocent?". The death sentence is rarely handed down and often it is for a repeat offense (or multiple crimes) so the WHAT IF would not apply. Mine is "WHAT IF the crazy killer gets out and kills some more?" Aren't WHAT IFs fun? How many victims' lives are equal to the value of the criminal's life ? ihuxm!cwa Carl Amport Naperville, IL.
