Don't bother sending votes as I will NOT post the results to the net. Now I know how rabbit!jj feels. I enjoy bantering with others on the net, but I did expect that people can read. In a *brief* article that I submitted to net.flame re: East versus West, in which I thought I pointed out that it is my opinion that there is no utopia; we all compromise when it comes to choosing our abode; and that the regional differences are far less marked then many people feel; I was bombasted for making Rochester, New York appear to be the center of civilization. Anyone who reads my original article which is posted below followed by the questionable response can decide for themselves, a) did I say Rochester is all that great (my job is here and that does help put food on the table,) and b) which of us is possibly deranged! I guess I have learned the hard way that access to a UUCP terminal is not sufficient evidence to support the competency of the individual who is responding. So before we have any more rabbit!jj's who feel that it is necessary for them to hide their identity, let's *READ* what has been posted before reacting. Maybe we should have the "f" key on all UUCP terminals disabled. Note to rabbit!jj - no offense intended! And Tim, no matter where you live, I am certain I would not have taken such cheap shots. Gawd, in any city, town, or village in this country, I could find at least one person who would degrade his hometown. Very seriously, I'm glad that you have relocated to someplace where you can be happy, as its apparent that you probably would have been very unhappy living in Rochester. as ever, j.r. >From jrc (James R Carbin) Wed Oct 5 14:26:50 1983 >Subject: Re: Back East vs. the Coast >Newsgroups: net.flame > >....."They're all obnoxious and they talk funny." - Steve Summit >-------------------------------------------------------------------- >Gee Steve, I hope you left off the :<) by accident or it was at least implied. >Do you really think that we are all obnoxious? >Seriously, I have often asked myself the question in the middle of a snowstorm, >"What in hell are you doing in Rochester, New York."
