Some of you might be interested to know that: * the Court did not uphold the earlier verdict, it merely decided not to hear the case. The Court frequently does this for reasons having nothing to do with the merits of the case. The effect of this is to leave intact the ruling at the appeals court level, which is valid in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana but nowhere else. * The NRA asked that the Court *not* hear the case. They say they want the Court to decide a case that concerns only the 2nd Amendment. Or something like that. I think they're worried about setting a nation-wide precedent. * The Illinois Supreme Court has agreed to hear a challenge to the ordinance.
