There are a lot of technically competent drivers in Boston. They just don't show it. I'll never forget my first day in Boston (well, Cambridge, actually): There's this alley (Amherst alley behind the MIT dorms, if you must know) which I at the time would have been afraid to drive down when it was empty, because it's so narrow, and I watched full-speed two-way traffic happen even though the alley was full of trucks, double-parked.
