  Oh, come on now, Bloom County is great!  What you must realize is
Bill the cat is Berke's jab at GARFIELD.  In fact I would bet the
Berke is a real cat hater, and detests Garfield as much as I do. 
In fact the death of Bill is probably Berke's addition to 101 ways to 
kill a cat.  Has anyone ever seen a comic strip SOOOOO commercialized 
as Garfield.  You can go right now to your local gift shop and buy 
Garfield underware, god who would want a cat on their underware.
Bloom County is the best strip since Doonesbury and having both would
be the best thing since sliced bread.
