One of the speakers was, believe it or not, a representative of the Creation whatever-it-is here in Wheaton; and I was asked to lead him to the lecture area. He finally asked me why I was muttering in pseudo-Latin and shaking my head; my (canned) response was that I was honored to be the first in centuries to be able to throw a Christian to the lions, but that I wasn't going to stay, as I don't like blood. He looked rattled. (And justifiably so; even more so when the panel finally ended.) Seriously, what's the problem? Creationism is a faith--you believe that an omniscient, omnipotent Ghod created everything. Once you accept that, then ANY evidence, pro or con, can be contrived by this being. A willingness and desire to belive in--and attempt to convince ME--of creationism simply says, to me, that your "faith" in your deity isn't strong enough to sustain itself, so you want me to reassure you by convincing me so that we can tell each other that we're right. If you want to explain the world, then you want science; if you want faith, then you've got your explanations by definition. But, in any case, leave me out of it. Please. Dave Ihnat ihuxx!ignatz
