It is true that there are a few bridges in California that have
tolls, but not as many as there used to be.  When a bridge in the
West is paid for, the tollbooths are taken down.  In the East,
they stay up forever, and the extra tolls collected after the
bridge is paid for pay for the maintenance of the tollbooths.
