Sorry to rub it in a little  further,  but, here in  Colorado  (southern
Fort Collins to be precise), I noticed one day, to my amazement, that on
my 3.7 mile drive home from work, once I leave the gate, I don't hit one
single  stop  sign, red  light, or  anything.  With a trivial  exception
(turning left across a country  road), I have the right of way from work
to my driveway!

And you know what?  I *STILL* hate the commute.
