Some of us (who bicycle regularly) DO object to bicycles slowing down and then going through stop signs. I object, primarily because the one who decides what is slow is the rider, not the others who may be affected by the rider's action. I ride very regularly, (except in Illinois winters), and have ridden in a number of cross-country trips. I have found that the riders I enjoy riding with most are those who obey every traffic law, signalling all their turns, signalling stops, stopping at stop signs and stop lights (but not go lights), not riding on the sidewalk, etc. They are generally the most mature of the riders I ride with, and most of all, are absolutely predictable in their actions.
