Message-ID: <190@pyuxss.UUCP> Date: Tue, 1-Nov-83 13:10:08 EST Article-I.D.: pyuxss.190 Posted: Tue Nov 1 13:10:08 1983 Date-Received: Fri, 4-Nov-83 02:43:07 EST Organization: Bell Labs, Piscataway Lines: 20 I was really impressed by the news I heard this morning. Not only are the Marines in Greneda adept in killing Cubans and whomever else is the enemy, but they also terribly efficient at killing each other! Instills such confidence. Seems that many of the Americans killed in Greneda died from US gunfire and a helicopter accident. Some died because of drowning in some accident. Now I know the Marines are excellent fighting men. But what kind of funny weeds are they finding on this little island to make them do such things. Don't tell me that this sort of thing is to be ecpected. If that's true we can expect more Americans to die at the hands of each other than at the hands of the enemy. Somehow it doesn't seem fair to the poor guy and his loved ones. At least he could die in combat and make his family feel like he died for a cause. Could someone out there give me a good reason for all these accidental deaths. And I don't want to hear anyone tell me I'm being overly critical. I'm just insanely curious. S.Badian BTL-Piscataway
