  This is similar to the current set-up that PLATO has, where the assumption
is made that forward-traffic is much more intensive than reverse-traffic
and you can get away with 300-baud for input. This is not always the case,
but it works out well enough (unless you touch type).

Uh, isn't 300 baud about 300 WPM? I don't know anyone who types that fast!
