Yucch! MONEY gives the serious investor about as much information about investing as Discover gives a scientist about science. The only thing it will tell you is what a mutual fund is, the names of the biggies, and how they fared, but the past performance of funds is almost never a good predictor of future performance. I, personally, don't trust the people in charge of funds to pick stocks for me. If you're really set on mutuals, I think S&P or Moody's publishes a quarterly guide to the funds which would at least tell you which funds are conservative and which are speculative (and who does the picking).
