The following is an excerpt from a memo sent home with my first grader:

       Across the United States, schools will be celebrating the
    National School Lunch Week from October 9-15, 1983.  The theme for
    this year's Natioanl School Lunch Week celebrations is "Programmed
    for Power."  On Wednesday October 12, 1983 we will be serving the
    Universal Menu:  POWER SOURCE Burger, Vegetable CHIPS, PRINTOUT
    Potatoes, Apple BYTES, and BASIC Milk.  This menu is the same
    lunch being served in more than 90,000 shcools this week across
    the United States.
