The best version of the does-a-tree-falling-unobserved-in-the-forest
-make-any-sound? question that I have seen was a Silver Stein cartoon
in Penthouse about 4 years ago.  A dead tree leans over more and more
during the first three frames; and in the fourth frame it is lying on
the ground finally and says "Shit!!"
