It is set to a tune that if you like "A letter from camp" you might recognize. Hello, Muddah, Hello, Faddah, here I am at Alma Mater. Where i once got educated-- Eighteen years ago I almost graduated. Everyone remembers me here, "Cause I averaged two-point-three here. Met Dean Turner at the station. He's deciding if he'll take me off probation. The athletics ain't the same here. Gosh--today they won a game here. And the coed are so purty, That on week nights they get locked up at ten thirty! Getting beer is very hard now 'Cause they ask you for a card now. And this hall is quite a haven I sincerely hope the ceiling doesn't cave in. Take me back, Old Alma Mater, take me back. I promise I will not cut class, This time I won't cut class, At least I'll go enough to pass. Reinstate me, please, I want to graduate. I want to wear a cap and gown (That is if there is one That's large enough in town.) I'm the father of a boy now. Making plans for Illinois now. He's a scholar--he's a learner, And I'll send along an apple for Dean Turner. I look forward with elation To his day of graduation. I'll go home and get his trunks out-- Boy, will I be disappointed if he flunks out! OZ seismo!rlgvax!oz
