My appologies. "Intruder alert" can be found in almost all the generic programs that need to look up current people logged on and such (finger, who, w, whoami, etc.) It fails when it can't find /etc/passwd or getpwuid dies trying to read it. I've yet to see it happen myself, but it sure could be a shocker if you were not prepared. Now, to satisfy those people who think that only jokes and the like should go to net.jokes: I was playing with some homegrown software of a friend's that required you to be in a specific directory on the system, heaven knows why. If you were not, it would ask either: "Are you sure that you are supposed to be here?" or "Hey! You're not where you belong, go back!" I went out to dinner at that point. -David Kovar ...decvax!dartvax!davidk P.S. My appologies to those who do not think that YASEM should go to net.jokes but I just can't please everyone.
