This reminded me of a long remembered variation:

  Scintilate, scintilate asteriod menific
  Fain do I fathom thy nature specific
  Loftily poised in the eather capacious
  Strongly resembling a gem carbonateous

It seems to me that there used to be a whole collection of those gems,
takeoffs on nursery rhymes rephrased for the "learned class."
